The Kirkwood Faculty Association represents the interests of all full-time Kirkwood faculty, regardless of membership status. We are the official bargaining agent for all faculty, negotiating with administration for wages and other related components of the Faculty Agreement.
KFA’s President and President-elect meet monthly with Kirkwood’s President and VP of Academic Affairs to discuss topics impacting faculty. They also meet regularly with representatives from the Kirkwood Staff Association (KSA) and other key employees as part of Kirkwood’s Communication Council to discuss topics impacting all Kirkwood employees. Additionally, a representative from KFA’s Executive Committee attends the monthly Board of Trustees Meetings. KFA members also serve on several key committees at Kirkwood including, but not limited to, MIIP, Quality Faculty Plan, Professional Development and Professional Renewal. If it impacts faculty at Kirkwood, KFA is part of the conversation!
KFA Executive Committee meets the first Thursday of the month from 11:15 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
KFA General Membership Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month from 11:15 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. in Cedar Hall 2077 during the following months: September, October, November, February, March, April.
