Great Places on Campus
Kirkwood Community College's Main Campus in Cedar Rapids already has a lot of advantages for students, with 1.85 million square feet of learning space.
But Kirkwood doesn't just teach in the classroom. Students have the opportunity for truly unique, hands-on learning experiences at two remarkable facilities:
- Katz Family Healthcare Simulation Center
- Sustainability Village
Aspiring medical professionals get as close to real-world hospital experience as possible at the Katz Family Healthcare Simulation Center, which is the first fully integrated, multidisciplinary healthcare simulation center in Iowa.
Local builders collaborated with students at Kirkwood to construct the Sustainability Village, a cluster of three 1,000-square-foot residential cabins and an educational center.
Here, students learn to use environmentally conscious tools, materials, and techniques, then get to see how well it all performs.
In addition to its on-campus facilities, Kirkwood offers even more hands-on learning opportunities for students in various fields at the following locations:
