Veteran Services

We Support Our Veterans

Kirkwood Community College is proud to support and serve veterans, military members, and their families in pursuit of a quality education.

We'll help you understand your benefits, provide resources for questions about financial aid, and more. Our Veteran Services team is ready with the tools you need to succeed in your Kirkwood education.

Note: If you intend to use your VA GI Bill benefits, then it is essential for you to contact the Veteran Services Office and consult with a School Certifying Official to initiate the process.

If you are planning on using TA (Tuition Assistance) benefits you will need to contact Camp Dodge Education Office at educationia@ng.army.mil or (515) 252-4468 for approval prior to enrollment. The institution's SCO cannot approve TA funds for a Service member.

We can help make college more affordable! Kirkwood awards over $3 million in scholarships every year, and we have a large number of scholarships especially for US Military veterans.
