✔ Find Courses
The first step is to look through the course catalog to find the classes you want to take.
✔ Apply
After you’ve found the classes you want to take, you’ll need to apply for admission and complete the New Student Application. On your application, choose the “Not Seeking a Kirkwood Degree” option under “Academic Program” so you can bypass the application requirements.
✔ Set Up Your Account
After you submit the application, we’ll email you instructions on how to get your k-number (Kirkwood identification number) and set up your Kirkwood account, which is necessary to register for classes.
✔ Make Sure You’re Eligible
Depending on the course you’re planning to take, a prerequisite may be required.
Prerequisites:
If the course you’re planning to take requires a prerequisite, you can satisfy that in one of these ways:
✔ Register for Your Classes
To register, log in to MyHub.
On your homepage, under “My Schedule,” choose the “Search the Course Catalog” link. Use the course catalog to search for and add courses to your schedule. If you need help choosing or registering for your courses, please contact the Academic Advising Center.
✔ Manage Payment and Finances
As a guest student, you’re not able to use financial aid from Kirkwood. If you’d like to use financial aid from the college you currently attend and are getting your degree from, contact them to see if a consortium agreement is available.
Otherwise, you’ll receive notification that your tuition is due, about a month prior to the start of the term. To speak to a financial aid advisor, please contact the Financial Aid office.
